It is an expectation that participants will have undertaken introductory level safeguarding children training prior to coming on this course. The LSCB does not provide introductory level training. This should be provided by your organisation/agency.

An update on relevant legislation, guidance, protocols and procedures; multi-agency working; appreciating own role and that of others; strategy meetings; child protection conferences and core groups; planning for children at risk of significant harm; the lessons from serious case reviews.
The course is not an introduction to safeguarding children and will not cover the legal framework for safeguarding children; the responsibilities of individuals and organisations; the signs of abuse; how to make a referral; or the response to referrals (all of which should have been covered on training undertaken prior to coming on this course).
