Social Prescribing Review

We have been contacted by the Evidence Based Practice Unit (EBPU), about a review of social prescribing specifically around child and youth mental health and wellbeing.

As part of this review, the EBPU want to explore the range of social prescribing practices that are currently available for children, young people and families, as well as current evidence of effectiveness of impact.

The EBPU are asking any individuals to contact them if they know of any social prescribing schemes that they could include as part of this piece of work. Their inclusion criteria are as follows:

The social prescribing scheme:

• Is aimed at children, young people and their parents. For the purposes of their review, they class young people up to the age of 25

• Focuses on mental health/wellbeing (including quality of life)

• Involves a link worker

• Involves an individual working with young people/parents (e.g. youth worker, clinician, teacher), referring a child young, person or family, to non-medical sources of support within the community

If you think you know of, or are involved with, a social prescribing scheme that fits with above, please could email the lead researcher, Dr Daniel Hayes [email protected] outlining the project/support in a few lines. Alternatively, you can also contact him on 020 7443 2220.
