Month of Community – Dates for 2024

The Month of Community is a time to come together to celebrate everything that makes our communities great.

Millions of people take part every June to cheer volunteers, connect with their neighbours, welcome refugees, support carers, raise awareness of loneliness, or simply to say thank you.

Below are the list of awareness days and campaigns taking place as part of the Month of Community:

The Big Lunch, 1-2 June
Bring your neighbours together with a Big Lunch

Neighbourhood Watch Week, 1-7 June
Support Neighbourhood Watch and get more active in your community

Have a Grow, 1-9 June
Our national celebration of all things community growing

Volunteers’ Week, 3-9 June
Say thanks to all the amazing volunteers across the UK

The Big Help Out, 7-9 June
Come together to lend a hand in your community

Great Big Green Week, 8-16 June
Celebrate community action to tackle climate change and protect nature

Loneliness Awareness Week, 10-14 June
Raise awareness of loneliness and get people talking about it

Carers Week, 10-16 June
Recognise the contribution unpaid carers make to communities

Refugee Week, 17-23 June
Celebrate the contributions, creativity and resilience of refugees and people seeking sanctuary

Windrush Day, 20 June
Commemoration of the sacrifices and contributions made by the Windrush Generation since their arrival to the UK

The Great Get Together, 21-23 June
An initiative celebrating everything that unites our communities and shared humanity

Small Charity Week, 24-28 June
Support small charities that make a huge difference every day

Care Home Open Week, 24-30 June
Engaging communities to meet residents and the exceptional care professionals that care for them.
