Workshop: Understanding Welsh Places website

1st May 2019 @ 10:15 am - 16th May 2019 @ 11:59 pm

Understanding Welsh Places (UWP) will support and inspire communities, place makers and policy makers to make positive changes in the places where they live and work. The website will present useful data and geographical information about more than 300 places in Wales in a format that is quick and easy to use. People will be able to use this information to identify opportunities in their areas now and in the future.

The Institute of Welsh Affairs are inviting people to talk about plans for UWP at an informal workshop in Cardiff on Wednesday 1st May. In particular, they would like to hear your thoughts on the grouping together of similar towns and communities in a typology of places and on the analysis of interdependencies that exist between places. You do not need to be an expert to participate and your input will be greatly appreciated. They are especially keen to hear from people working or volunteering within Welsh communities at a grassroots level.

The workshop will take place at Cardiff University at 10.15 am on Wednesday 1st May 2019. The discussion will last around two hours and will be followed by a buffet lunch. To book your place and find out more, please visit the Eventbrite page. The event is free, but spaces are limited, so early booking is advised.

The UWP website is being built by a team led by staff at Cardiff University. The Institute of Welsh Affairs (IWA) is coordinating communications and consultation about the project. You can read more about the UWP project on the IWA website.
