During this two-day Children in Wales course, delegates will explore the role of the group facilitator, and be able to use facilitation skills to engage constructively with group participants from a variety of groups running in different settings. The course will enable delegates to base their work on the principles of equal opportunities. The course will develop delegates’ understanding of and ability to use active listening and communication skills within a group context.
By the end of course, you will:
– Understand the role of the facilitator
– Understand some models of groupwork theory
– Understand and manage group dynamics
– Be able to identify some of the key knowledge and skills necessary for successful facilitation
– Be able to share, explore and practice facilitation techniques
– Be able to share some of the challenges involved in facilitation and consider ways of overcoming these
