Person Centred Care

The course is designed to provide an understanding of Person-Centred Care in the context of social care for domiciliary and residential staff. The day will cover person centred care planning, creativity and communication in addition to issues around rights and capacity. The overall focus is on well-being for all involved in the care process.

Taught over 1 day using tutor facilitated learning, mini lectures, group work and audiovisual presentations, this is a highly interactive and emotionally engaging experience.

Participants will gain an attendance certificate mapped to the relevant QCF units:

  • Understand person-centred approaches for care and support (Unit 4222-207 LO1)
  • Understand the principles and practice of person-centred thinking, planning and reviews (Unit 4222-246 LO1)
  • Understand the context within which person-centred thinking and planning takes place (Unit 4222-246 LO2)
  • Understand own role in person-centred planning, thinking and reviews (Unit 4222-246 LO3)
  • Understand the use of person-centred planning tools

Targeted to: Managers and senior staff working in social care. Participants should be in work roles providing the opportunity to deliver person-centred care and support.
