Tros Gynnal Plant has been commissioned by Welsh Government, over a 3 year period, to promote and support the use of Restorative Approaches as a method of engagement with seldom heard families. Through the delivery of our Restorative Engagement Training and Development programme across Wales, RAFEP has supported over 300 professionals across a broad range of services within the 3rd sector to enhance their engagement skills and we have delivered restorative sessions to parents with the aim of helping them deal with conflict more effectively.
Through the programme, professionals and families are provided with tools to build positive and sustainable relationships which aims to support resilience and resourcefulness, decrease unnecessary dependency on services and enable individuals to reach out to services when really needed.
What will happen at the RAFEP All Wales Conference?
Attendees will be inspired through a range of Presentations and Workshops that will provide opportunity to explore our findings and consider the effectiveness of the use of Restorative Approaches within Family Engagement, potentially looking at how this approach fits within the framework of the Social Services and Wellbeing Act (Wales), and the value of this model in alignment with early intervention drivers in the prevention and mitigation of ACEs.
Lunch will be provided and there will be plenty of networking opportunities!

This All Wales conference is aimed at Professionals from any background including health, social care, voluntary sector and education as all will benefit from attending. This conference is of particular relevance to Decision Makers influencing the direction of family support services at a strategic level, Service Commissioners, Senior Managers, Training and Development Officers and Managers of practitioners working directly with families.
