This Cardiff Council training is for all social care staff.

  • Causes and effects of anxiety due to fear of falling
  • Techniques for addressing fear of falling
  • Speech and Language Therapy – Communication
  • The effects of impaired communication
  • Common communication difficulties with patients
  • Techniques for overcoming communication issues
  • Dietetics – Nutrition and Hydration
  • Importance of adequate nutrition/hydration on function
    • Guideline amounts
  • Tips for overcoming problems
  • Nursing – Blood pressure, Medications and Infections
  • Effects of altered blood pressure – high/low/postural drop
  • Polypharmacy
  • Signs of infections to look out for

A certificate of attendance will be issued to participants who attend the whole session.
