Applying to the EU settlement Scheme

As you may be aware, EU citizens who want to live and work in the UK (with access to benefits, public services and healthcare, the right to study and rent accommodation) will need to make an application for settled/pre-settled status before 30 June 2021.

Newport Mind team are currently trying to reach out to EU nationals across Wales and support them with the application process (this service is free). If your service users have a wellbeing issue, have experienced domestic violence, or are older than 50, then they are entitled toreceive support from Newport Mind when making the application. They will provide step by step assistance to these people, who may not be aware that they must apply for settled/pre-settled status in the U.K. or who might lack the means to complete the applications.

The process requires access to a smartphone with Android 6.0 or above (you can’t currently apply using an iPhone) and also an internet connections. They can provide access to computers and an Android phone to complete the application. In addition, they can help applicants source the correct documentation needed for the application. Newport Mind also have access to a telephone interpretation service to assist those individuals who have difficulties understanding and speaking English.

Carer’s Gateway

The Health Board are looking for an organisation to provide a Gateway which will provide a ‘one stop shop’ approach to supporting and engaging with carers, providing them with information and advice about services which will support them in their caring role.  The Gateway will link with existing services and providers, will not duplicate services already provided and will act as the central link across the region for unpaid Carers.

I have attached the service specification for ease of review, however, if any organisation is interested they will need to log onto the Bravo etendering portal under itt_76359 to obtain the rest of the tender documents and be able to submit a response. I am happy to help anyone if they need support in downloading/uploading documents on the Bravo portal.

The portal link is https://etenderwales.bravosolution.co.uk and the tender closes on the 13th August at 4pm as it was advertised on the 30th July. Although, if there are any organisations interested and they require additional time please let me know and we can potentially review the deadline.

Dementia Friendly Communities Coordinator Service

The Health Board is seeking an organisation with third sector and/or housing association links to provide a co-ordination role service. The service will be essential to monitor and oversee the dementia friendly communities scheme and to ensure that dementia friendly community areas receive the support that they need to develop further, across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. The organisation will need to develop links with partners in order to achieve this. The aim is to ensure that people with dementia and their carers receive dementia friendly services from shops and businesses, through a series of pledges.

I have attached the service specification for ease, however, if any organisations are interested they will need to log onto the Bravo etendering portal under itt_76301 to obtain the rest of the tender documents and be able to submit a response. I am happy to help anyone if they need support in downloading/uploading documents on the Bravo portal.

The portal link is https://etenderwales.bravosolution.co.uk and the tender closes on the 9th August at midday as it was advertised on the 30th July. Although, if there are any organisations interested and they require additional time please let me know and we can potentially review the deadline.
