‘Adult social services – have your say’- A Survey by Action On Hearing Loss |
A new survey launched by Action On Hearing Loss which is aiming to gather evidence on the experiences of people who are deaf or have hearing loss who need social care and support. They want people to tell us about their experiences so we can better understand the issues they face and how services can be improved.
The findings of this survey will be used to develop new guidance for local authorities in Wales on delivering high-quality adult social services for people who are deaf of have hearing loss. Once completed, this guidance will help address some of the main challenges facing people who are deaf or have hearing loss who need social care and support, such as the lack of accessible contact options, poor deaf awareness amongst social service staff and variations in the availability and quality of assistive equipment.

Printer-friendly versions of the survey (in Welsh and English) are also available on request . The survey is anonymous so any filled-in survey questionnaires can scanned in and sent back to the email address below. A small number of free-post envelopes on request can be provided, if that would be helpful.
As well as the survey, They’re also holding a focus group at their Cardiff office in June to help people who are deaf or hearing loss and their family members or carers share their views on how services could be improved. Participants in the focus groups will be given £10 and travel expenses will be paid.
People who cannot attend the focus groups can also sign up to take part in research interviews or focus groups discussions.
People can sign-up to take part by filling in our short online sign-up survey: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/focusgroupsignup2019
