As part of a suite of research funded by Oxfam Cymru, Chwarae Teg are undertaking a study of the barriers to progression for women in low paid sectors. This study will inform wider understanding about what constitutes “decent work” for women in Wales, the extent to which decent work is available and what action is needed to ensure there are opportunities for women in lower paid roles to progress.
As part of this study, Chwarae Teg are looking to speak to women working in non-managerial roles in two sectors – domiciliary care and food and drink (including hospitality). They are looking to do this either through small group discussions or interviews, which can be done face-to-face or over the phone.
They are also keen to speak to key sector representatives in both social care and food and drink to provide further insight into the policy solutions that are needed.
If you would be happy to talk to them or know someone who would, please contact Hade Turkmen ([email protected]). Please also feel free to share details of this work with others you think might be interested.
