Here's a message from Cardiff and Vale University Health Board:
The UHB’s Shaping Our Future Wellbeing strategy has at its heart the desire to achieve joined up care based on a ‘home first’ principle, avoiding harm, waste and variation, empowering people and delivering outcomes that matter to them. Building on engagement we carried out in 2016 with service users, carers, third sector, staff and others with an interest in mental health services, we would like to have some more conversations about our proposals for further improving mental health services for older people and the adult mental health rehabilitation services currently located at the Iorwerth Jones Unit. The proposed changes are aimed at addressing specific concerns over some of our accommodation as well as further shifting the balance of care towards home and close to home in the community in line with our vision for these services.
If you would like to be part of this conversation, please come to one of our open sessions on 23 March where we will be testing back what we have heard during earlier engagement, sharing our response to the issues raised and discussing the proposed way forward.
Details of these sessions and the Engagement Document describing our proposals can be accessed via the following link: http://www.cardiffandvaleuhb.wales.nhs.uk/news/44252
The open sessions will be held on 23 March 2017 at:
- Seminar Rooms, Hafan y Coed, 2pm – 4pm (University Hospital Llandough, Penlan Road, Llandough, CF64 2XX)
- Thornhill Community Centre, 6pm – 8pm (Excalibur Drive, Cardiff, CF14 9GA)
The Engagement closes on 21 April 2017.
