C3SC Third Sector Symposium - Sustainability and Co-DevelopmentCardiff Third Sector Symposium and Funding Drop-in 2013

Cardiff’s Third Sector Symposium is filling fast. This year, the Symposium is responding to the needs of C3SC members by looking at sustainable models of funding. With workshops on how to form collaborations, access funding from Neighbourhood Management Teams, and an introduction to co-production, the event promises to deliver to C3SC members and partners the skills to adapt to new funding opportunities, and increase their resilience.

Why book on this event?
  • Keynote speeches on the progress in Cardiff to address poverty, and the effects of welfare reform and its impact on the third sector here in Cardiff. Hear about a new Cardiff Third Sector Partnership funding source to address sustainability, and the journey travelled by Cardiff Council on partnership working.
  • Learn about the future of service delivery. Co-production is a new way of shaping services, and is growing in importance here in Wales. At its heart is a new way of sharing what services should look like, and marks a change away from funders setting out what they want from providers. C3SC is delighted to host a workshop by Governance International, experts in the Co-production, to introduce this way of working here in the capital. Offering tips on how to meet this new challenge, you will come away from the workshop with a greater chance of securing funding by adopting this new way of thinking.
  • Know how to form effective partnerships. The way many services are commissioned from the third sector in Cardiff is changing. More and more services are being commissioned from consortiums, with funders favouring partnerships of charities working together. However, forming partnerships can be a challenge. How do you ensure your objectives are included? How do you build trust? What happens if you disagree on the way forward? FreshTies will be delivering an essential workshop on how to overcome these challenges, so that you can form strong, successful partnerships – vital for maximising your organisation’s chances of funding in the future.
  • Access more funding in your area. Neighbourhood Management Teams are partnerships that help address local need across Cardiff. We will be running a workshop on what they do, and their aims. Each NMT has funding to deliver against its aims and objectives, a source of funding that many organisations are not aware of. Learn how to engage with NMTs and how to apply for the funding that is perfect for many C3SC’s member organisations.
  • Enjoy tailored funding advice for your organisation. From 4.30 p.m. to 6.30pm, C3SC will be providing bespoke funding advice including Grantfinder sessions. The full Third Sector Officer team will be available to provide one-to-one advice to your organisation.

Symposium: Thursday 12th September from 1.30-4.30pm
