Trustees Needed at C3SC!

Is your group or organisation a member of C3SC? Do you have a passion for the Third Sector in Cardiff? Do you have an interest in supporting communities? Do you want to ‘give something back’ to your local community?

We are a small charity and a company limited by guarantee with ambitious plans for growth, and we are keen to recruit people from our local community – preferably with skills in Communications and Marketing, HR or Fund Raising and experience in the local third sector.

We are looking to broaden the diversity of representation on our board, and we welcome applications from under-represented groups that reflect the diversity of our local community.

The Board is responsible for setting the strategy and policies of C3SC, and Board meetings are held every three months on Thursday evening between 4.30pm and 6.30pm. Board members are offered full induction, along with training and mentoring opportunities.

Community Language Volunteers

We at the Cardiff Volunteer Centre @C3SC want to share information with the diverse communities in Cardiff. Although English is the primary language used in the information we provide, we are conscious that English or Welsh is not everyone’s first or native language. We are aware that a lot of people would prefer to speak, read and communicate in their language of choice.

Tasks could include:
– Translation of written materials
– Help with editing information on digital platforms
– Supporting C3SC with interpreting for members of the community and with sharing information via email, social media, telephone, video conferencing and other digital means  

– Attending events, fairs and drop-in sessions to support C3SC in their outreach to local communities.

 

Digital Communication Volunteer

Cardiff Third Sector Council are looking for a volunteer to help us post on social media and develop our WordPress website. Volunteers will also have an opportunity to promote and curate the Cardiff Community Platform. You will support a friendly team in sharing important information about the third sector to charities, volunteers and the general public.
General duties may include: organising and editing information for sharing, posting on our social media platforms including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn, posting on the WordPress powered website, sourcing copyright free images and depending on your previous website development experience, optimising pages on WordPress and Search Engines.

Cerebral Palsy Cymru

Title of post: Volunteer Coordinator

Hours: 21.6 hours (3 days) per week

Contract: Fixed term – 12 months (potential to extend), part time

Salary: £26,000 per annum (FTE), pro rata to £15,600 per annum for part time hours.

Location: Based at our Children’s Centre in Llanishen, Cardiff.

 

We are looking for a Volunteer Coordinator to play a crucial role in recruiting, inducting, training and managing our volunteers – to ensure the effective delivery of our programs and services.

Reporting to the Grange Pavilion Manager, you will need to be reliable and committed and provide efficient administration of bookings, payments, invoices and other administrative tasks associated with the running of the Grange Pavilion.

The Grange Pavilion Assistant Manager post will be responsible for establishing long-term administration policies and procedures, will lead on the administrative day-to-day running of the Grange Pavilion to support the Grange Pavilion Manager, will lead on day to day running when the Manager is not on duty, and will support the Grange Pavilion in developing long-term financial stability.

Treasurer Vacancy at WAMES (The Welsh Association of ME and CFS Support)

WAMES provide vital support and information services for those in Wales with ME and CFS as well as their families and carers.

Can you use your skill with numbers, details and financial analysis to help a small charity improve the lives of people with ME/CFS and other post-viral illnesses throughout Wales?

The role of the treasurer is to: 

  • Manage accounts 
  • Ensure that proper financial records and procedures are maintained 
  • Maintain an overview of WAMES’ financial affairs and advise the committee on budgets and policies 
  • Update trustees on the latest changes in charity and financial law, and best practice 

You would be based at home, but working with, and responsible to the management team, as a trustee of the organisation. 

Hours expected per month: 2hrs, on average. 

Expected period of commitment: 3 years, as the handover period could take some months.

Members – Community Health Councils

Do you have an interest in your local NHS? Do you want to improve local health services in your area? Do you have 3-5 days free per month to become a volunteer?

If you answered YES to the above questions, then become a volunteer of the Community Health Councils (CHC) in Wales.

We are looking for people from all walks of life, of all ages. We ensure no eligible candidate receives less favourable treatment on the grounds of: age, disability, gender, marital status, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, race, colour, nationality, ethnic or national origins, religion or religious affiliation.

The most important requirement is a genuine interest in improving health services for your community. Some key skills which would be useful include: an interest in local health issues, being able to work in a team and with a diverse range of people plus good communication skills.

What are CHCs?

CHCs represent the independent voice of patients and the public who use the health service in Wales. They play an important role in influencing the way services are planned and delivered, to ensure the best possible health and wellbeing outcomes for all people in Wales.

What do CHC members do?

CHC members are local volunteers who act as the eyes and ears of patients and the public, visiting hospitals, listening to patient concerns and working with the health service to improve the quality of patient care.

Successful candidates will be given training and support to enable them to carry out their role and any ‘out of pocket’ expenses such as travel will be reimbursed.
