Volunteers throughout the county of Cardiff will be thanked for their contribution at an award ceremony taking place on Friday 28th June, 2019 to mark the end of a monthly celebration of Volunteers’ Week, which runs from 1-7 June.

Cardiff Third Sector Council (C3SC) is the County Voluntary Council (CVC) for Cardiff – the umbrella infrastructure organisation for the third sector in the City. C3SC’s key role is to provide specialist advice, support, and information to local third sector organisations on issues that affect them, including funding and governance.

The Cardiff Volunteer Centre @ C3SC is run by the community, for the community. The Centre acts as a central hub where anyone in Cardiff can find out about volunteering opportunities. We help people who want to volunteer and organisations recruiting volunteers to find the right opportunities.

Ebed, our Volunteer Centre Manager says: ‘’C3SC is here to help you volunteer in your local community. We have hundreds of different volunteering opportunities with charities, community groups and statutory organisations across the capital. If you want to give back whilst being part of a movement to make a difference then we’re here to help.’’

Volunteers are central to the work of countless charities and other organisations. They are a valuable presence in many communities, making a difference in places as diverse as sports clubs, libraries, schools and hospitals.

Hundreds of events will be taking place across the country to mark Volunteers' Week. The annual campaign, which was established in 1984, recognises the contribution volunteers make to our communities every day. Charities across the UK will hold events to thank their volunteers and celebrate the power of volunteering to bring communities together. Last year more than 900 events took place, from awards ceremonies to tea parties and barbecues. For many charities the week will also be a chance to showcase the range of volunteering opportunities on offer. Volunteer fairs and other events will encourage people to try volunteering for the first time and help people find out how through volunteering they can make a difference to a cause they are passionate about.

This year, The Cardiff Volunteer Centre @ C3SC will hold the maiden regional Cardiff Volunteers Awards 2019 to recognise and reward the work that volunteers and organisations do in our the County of Cardiff. We are inviting people to nominate volunteers for the following categories: Trustee, Volunteer Co-ordinator, Group (3+), Young Volunteer of the Year, and Volunteer of the Year. Please use this form to nominate and send it back to us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. The deadline is the 17th June.
