The Cardiff Council and Vale of Glamorgan Council in partnership with Cardiff Third Sector Council (C3SC) and Glamorgan Voluntary Services (GVS) have allocated over £28,500 in total, to fund new and innovative third sector sustainable preventative community activities and services in Cardiff and the Vale.  The Fund is administered by C3SC in partnership with GVS.

The Fund is to help deliver solutions in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan to meet the Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act 2014 four fundamental principles: Voice and control; prevention and early intervention; wellbeing; and co-production.  In addition, applications must demonstrate at least one of the five ways of working of the Wellbeing of Future Generations (Act) 2015 - prevention, involvement, collaboration, integration and is long term (sustainable).

The Programme is open for applications from Friday, 3 May 2019 with a deadline for submission of 5pm on Monday, 27 May 2019.

Aim of the Programme

This scheme is intended to support opportunities to be put in place locally to promote health, wellbeing and independence.  This revenue and capital Fund aims to support proposals for sustainable preventative initiatives which improve the quality of life for priority groups across Cardiff and the Vale by ensuring people are able to engage in their local community, develop or maintain their independence and access appropriate support at the right time.

We are looking to support proposals for NEW services or activities which respond to a need or a particular problem, build on community assets and maximise the impact of sustainable preventative services.  For example, you may wish to set up a new self-help group or forum, or a lunch or sport club, youth group, carers support group, neighbour support, provide information and advice, organise a special event or a community befriending service.
