The aim of this WCVA course is to enable participants to develop a needs analysis for their area, community or project that will stand up to scrutiny and be useful for project planning and evaluation.
This course will:
- Introduce the background to needs analysis and its role in project development and evaluation, including the impact on staff, volunteers and the community you work with.
- Outline the types of evidence that are useful and the role of different kinds of evidence.
- Illustrate the use of publicly available statistics and research reports and how to apply these to your project.
- Discuss how you can ‘fill in the gaps’ where there is no evidence available.
- Help you to develop a strategy for your own needs analysis
