- Thursday, 08 November 2012
|
The Welsh Government has announced that the 2013/14 application window for the Young Entrants Support Scheme (YESS) is now open. YESS aims to encourage and support new entrants to farming in Wales. The assistance package includes the following key elements:
The maximum amount of grant aid available will be 50% of an agreed £30,000 investment, ie a £15,000 maximum grant. There will also be a 100% subsidised access to a mentoring service by established farmers. The maximum funded subsidy will amount to four days' subsidised mentoring service within a 12-month period. The grant can be used towards capital or revenue investment for expenses incurred when young entrants are setting-up as head of holding for the first time. To be eligible for aid under this scheme, the applicant must be under 40 years of age at the time he/she makes an application for the aid (and as confirmed by a birth certificate), and be setting-up for the first time as head of holding. Find out more on the Welsh Government website. Applications for support during 2013/14 must be submitted by 7 December 2012. |
