Journeys survey about language, depression and mental health issues

  • PDF

Can you help? Journeys supports people to find their route to recovery from depression. They are carrying out some research on language, depression and mental health issues for Welsh speakers - but you don't have to be a Welsh speaker to complete it.

Please help to spread the word about the survey. There will be a draw - a £20 gift voucher - for one lucky person who returns the questionnaire.

Visit the Journeys website to complete the questionnaire. Closing date is 25 January 2013.

Cardiff Council Citizen Focus - Older Person Questionnaire

  • PDF

The Citizen Focus Engagement Team at Cardiff Council is piloting a small questionnaire aimed at older person groups across Cardiff to ascertain information about accessibility to Council services and also to test the waters regarding the development of multiple engagement mechanisms to ensure that those not involved in Cardiff’s older persons forum are still able to participate within the engagement work currently being planned for the New Year. They need to measure how (if at all) older citizens are currently engaged within the forum process and / or receive information via this method and also gain priority objectives for the Council to focus upon for this group.

You can complete the survey at http://www.surveys.cardiff.gov.uk/citizensfocus2012/

The Disclosure and Barring Service

  • PDF

On 1 December 2012 the Criminal Records Bureau and Independent Safeguarding Authority merged to become the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

For disclosure information and services after 1 December 2012, please visit the DBS homepage:

www.homeoffice.gov.uk/dbs

This new organisation will provide a joined up, seamless service combining the criminal records checking and barring functions. Further legislative changes will come into force during 2013 and 2014. These details will be published on the DBS website.

Disclosure and Barring Service

The primary role of the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) is to help employers make safer recruitment decisions and prevent unsuitable people from working with vulnerable groups including children.

The DBS was established under the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 and merges the functions previously carried out by the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) and Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA).

Read about what we do and what happened before the DBS.

Applicants

If you are an individual who has been asked to apply for a DBS check, you can also find further information about the process and what you need to do on the GOV.UK website(Opens in a new window).

Referrals

If you are an employer or represent an organisation and you have concerns that an individual has caused harm or poses future risk of harm to vulnerable groups including children, you will need to complete a DBS referral form.

More information about referrals and the referral process can be found throughout this site.
