Cardiff Third Sector Council (C3SC) has been working in the richly diverse lower Grangetown area on marla ‘Communities First’ project since 2008. Bringing people together to share and celebrate their cultures has been an important part of this work, and C3SC has worked in partnership with a broad range of local community groups and organisations under the umbrella name ‘Global Grangetown’.

On Friday 24th August, Global Grangetown is providing a platform to the area’s talented youth for an afternoon of live performances on The Marl, Ferry Road.

Together with lead partners ‘Sound Progression’ and the ‘Somali Integration Society’, C3SC has organised the setting and the stage – but the programme is entirely run by young people from the area.

The day’s entertainment will be hosted by members of REMIX – the South Cardiff Youth Forum – with musical performances from atop the amazing V-Pod Mobile Music Stage. The young presenters received coaching from top broadcasting trainers from Radio Cardiff, while the performers are being mentored by staff from Sound Progression – youth workers experienced in the music industry.

The music will be from a variety of styles and genres, reflecting the diverse talents of Grangetown’s  young people, and between live performances the crowd will be entertained by young DJs.

It promises to be a great celebration of talent and community togetherness.

The event runs from 2pm to 6pm (whatever the weather).
