Important notice re: Arriva Trains disruption to service

  • PDF

Arriva Trains Wales services have been suspended between Cardiff Queen Street and Cardiff Central station until further notice with alternate transport provided.

This is due to a retaining wall collapsing overnight, which has resulted in a wall and its debris falling on the track.

Engineers have this morning been removing the debris and also removing another part of the wall which was unsafe.

If you usually go to Queen Street to catch your train via the valley lines, please take note of the following:

  • Services from Aberdare and Merthyr Tydfil will be diverted via the city line to Cardiff Central and will not stop at Queen Street.
  • Treherbert services will continue to Cardiff Queen Street and stop at Cardiff Bay but will not go to Cardiff Central.
  • Rhymney line services will stop at Caerphilly with road transport which will also be provided for all other affected stations.
  • First Great Western will see some minor disruption with trains diverted to other platforms at Cardiff Central.

Please pass this information onto friends and family who will be affected by this. You can also check out Arriva Trains website updates or check out National Rail Enquiries website.
