Dame Shirley Bassey becomes patron of a C3SC member organisation
- Wednesday, 08 August 2012
Dame Shirley Bassey has agreed to become the Patron of ACE Cardiff, the Bay-based charity that, among other projects, runs an after-school learning workshop for children from Butetown, the former Tiger Bay, where Dame Shirley was famously born.
Gerry Puttock, the charity’s Director, said: “It’s exciting that someone with such a global presence has agreed to support ACE Cardiff by becoming our Patron. Our trustees and staff are particularly happy because she is so closely identified with the part of Cardiff where we have been based since 2006 and where we run one of our major projects in the local community. We hope she will now, in her travels, be pointing to us with a gold finger!”
