Have you heard of Gofal's GreengAge Project?
- Wednesday, 09 May 2012
GreengAge is a project aimed at people over the age of 50 who live in the Cardiff area. GreengAge promotes the well-being of older people through participation in horticulture and social activities.
The project is run by Gofal, a leading Welsh mental health and well-being charity. They provide a wide range of services to people with mental ill health, supporting their independence, their health
and well-being and their recovery.
How the GreengAge Project works
One of the case workers visits the individual at home to chat about the project, and to find out what type of activities they’d like to undertake.
The case worker will then match the person and introduce them to a volunteer that suits their
needs and interests. They will also help with gardening ideas so there's no delay in getting started.
The volunteer will visit the person at home to help them develop their gardening projects and spend time with them.
