Opportunity for consultation and feedback: Cardiff Council’s draft Learning Disability Commissioning Strategy 2012 - 2017
- Wednesday, 09 May 2012
Cardiff Council’s draft Learning Disability Commissioning Strategy 2012 - 2017 has been published for consultation and feedback. The strategy is being consulted on from 8th May - 8th June 2012.
The 2012 - 2017 draft strategy has been produced following extensive consultation with service users and partners. It presents Cardiff’s main priorities to develop services over the next 5 years for adults with a learning disability from aged 18 through old age. It outlines how the Council can work together with partners to fill any gaps in the services it provides. It also sets out commissioning priorities to meet the needs of people with learning disabilities in a fair, transparent and equitable way.
The draft strategy provides information about:
- National and local guidance
- Demand for Learning Disability Services
- Supply of Learning Disability Services
- Gaps in Learning Disability Services
- How services are monitored and reviewed
Now is the opportunity for you to tell Cardiff Council what you think. They would like to hear your views and get as much feedback on their draft strategy as possible, to help them shape future provision across the city.
They would be really grateful if you would take the time to read through the strategy, and send them your responses. As a guide, you could consider the following five questions in your response:
- What are your views about the gaps that have been identified as a priority for commissioning Learning Disability Services? (Please see section 5 of the draft strategy.)
- Please list and explain any gaps in services and/or provision that you believe have not been identified in the draft Strategy.
- Please comment on the priorities for commissioning Learning Disabilities services included in the action plan summary in Appendix 1.
- What are your views on the proposed template for the action plans? Please see Appendix 1.
- Please tell the Council your view on the content of the draft Learning Disabilities Commissioning Strategy.
