NeA Training now available from BVSNW

Thanks to a £20,000 training grant awarded by the Arts Council of Wales, the Black Voluntary Sector Network Wales is pleased to announce a new programme of professional development opportunities for Black and Minority Ethnic artists and creatives in Wales. Courses are heavily subsidised and travel expenses and a small number of free places can be provided depending on personal circumstances.

The next courses to take place in South Wales are:

'It's All About ME!' led by Mel Squire on Tuesday 8th, 15th & 29th May from 10am - 2pm at the National Museum of Wales, Cardiff, CF10 3NP

Take time out to enjoy a course which will help build your confidence, consider your future and learn the skills to help you take control of your life. An opportunity to meet like-minded people - the course is fun, relaxed and informal. • Getting work/life balance right
• Motivation and future direction
• Career planning and making choices
• Get THAT job

‘Unlocking the Secrets Behind Residencies & Grants’ led by Ivy Alvarez on Tuesday 15^th May 10am – 3pm at the National Waterfront Museum, Swansea, SA1 3RD 2JA

Residencies and grants are highly sought-after by artists and creatives, since it enables them to take time out to focus on their art. This workshop helps you to:

• Get over the fear of the application form
• Write a memorable project description
• Line up your referees and write an effective CV
• Select work for your writing sample
• Sustain your momentum by planning ahead
