Esteem Train - Children in Need funded training for children and young people
- Friday, 20 April 2012
Dynamix is delighted to have secured more funding to continue to deliver Esteem Train. Esteem Train is aimed at vulnerable and disadvantaged children and young people in South Wales, including asylum seekers, disabled young people, vulnerably housed young people, young parents, and young people with anxiety and depression amongst others.
The programme splits into three session. The first is a two-hour consultation session where the group explores issues that are important to them (things that have come up include bullying, play, children's rights, sexual health, money, citizenship, personal safety, faith etc.); the second is a training session around the most important issues identified by the group in the first session underpinned with self esteem boosting methods and activities.
Times and venues will be arranged to suit your group. Then two of the children or young people and an adult worker attend a train the trainer session where they learn to use the training methods.
The programme aims to improve self esteem, improve communication skills and coping mechanisms. Previous groups have also found that it helps groups to work together and fosters great team working skills.
This programme would normally cost £1,850 but as Dynamix has been fortunate enough to secure Children In Need funding in order to run it, all expenses are covered, including up to £150 towards venue hire and refreshments for your group if you need it.
Dynamix can work with children or young people of any age. They will discuss appropriate group sizes with you when you book.
Once again there are only places for 20 groups available so if you would like your group of children or young people to benefit then please get in contact with Dynamix as soon as possible as spaces will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
