Disability Wales announces Year Three (Stage 4) of the ‘Way To Go: Planning for Inclusive Access’ project

The project will consist of six FREE training modules to be delivered in the South East Wales area, covering Cardiff, Vale of Glamorgan, Rhondda Cynon Taff, Bridgend and Merthyr Tydfil. People from Powys and Ceredigion are also able to attend.

The modules, listed below, will be held at the Future Inns, Cardiff.

Module 1 – Disability Equality and the Social Model: Tuesday 22nd May

Module 2 – Introduction to the Planning System: Tuesday 26th June

Module 3 – Inclusive Access: Tuesday 25th September

Module 4 – Building Relationships: Wednesday 7th November

Module 5 – Negotiation and Conflict Resolution: Tuesday 27th November

Module 6 – Summary Day: February 2013

 

The project is aimed at disabled people, local access groups, disabled people’s organisations, Local Authority planners, and others involved in the planning process. The project aims to develop knowledge of the planning process, increase awareness of the social model of disability, raise awareness of the positive role disabled people and access groups can play in planning, and encourage stronger relationships between planners and disabled people in Wales.

The training is open to members and non-members of Disability Wales.
