  • PDF

Where? Park Plaza Cardiff, Grey Friars Road, Cardiff
When? Friday 30th March 2012, 11:00am - 1.30pm

Beacon for Wales - Community University Partnership event will offer an opportunity to network with
academics, researchers and community organisations, to discuss partnerships in the area of interest and to learn more about what each of the parties can offer.

It will be a perfect opportunity for professionals to share a couple of hours of creative thought and discussion.
Participants are encouraged to think widely about the possibilities and interests within their
organisations that could benefit from a partnership with a university/community organisation.
The Beacon for Wales is a partnership between Cardiff University, University of Glamorgan, BBC Wales, Amgueddfa Wales - National Museum of Wales and Techniquest funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales, Research Councils UK and the Wellcome Trust who are providing over £1.2 million from 2008-2011.
Public engagement has become an important part of research as it helps to generate and prove research impact. The Beacon for Wales wants to ensure that the capability of Welsh universities to successfully connect with their surrounding communities continues to thrive, bringing benefits to both Welsh universities and wider society.
