Partners from the NHS, local councils and the third sector came together at the Park Inn Hotel on Helping Out, Staying Out conference 6th March to discuss how the third sector can help reduce or prevent the demands currently pressuring the health services across Cardiff and the Vale.

On the day, speakers including Mike Murphy from Cardiff council, Lance Carver from the Vale of Glamorgan Council, Chris Cashmore from the UHB,  Lynda Chandler from the UHB, Des Kitto from the Community Health Council and Rachael Conner from VCVS provided a context for the day. The context formed the background to discussions held in workshops, looking at ways in which the third sector can contribute to the demands on hospital services.

The day was well attended and some fantastic feedback is currently being incorporated into a report that will inform future partnership working (we'll post the report on our website when it's ready).

A big thank you to all those who attended this joint event between C3SC and VCVS. And special thanks to all the speakers and workshop facilitators who made the day successful.
