Healthy living programme for Cardiff families

Campaign to protect children from smoking in cars

The 'Fresh Start Wales' campaign calls on parents and other carers to pledge to keep their cars smoke free, and thereby protect their children from the health risks associated with second hand smoke in a confined space. The first phase of advertising will feature on local radio, billboards, bus-backs and bus shelters as well as a dedicated website.

Statistics on alcohol

This House of Commons Library briefing presents statistical information on drinking. It examines patterns and trends in drinking amongst adults and young people and also includes information on alcohol-related ill health, NHS hospital activity and the cost of alcohol misuse.

4.5m over-60s can only just afford the basics

Research commissioned by Age UK shows the realities of how older people manage living on a low income as a new poll reveals that 55% of people aged 60 and over are finding it harder to manage their regular outgoings compared to last year.
