MEIC featured on ITV1 - watch the footage

While everyone was enjoying their Christmas dinner and toasting in the New Year, MEIC staff were working hard to support young people across the whole of the festive period. MEIC is the information, advice and support helpline for children and young people in Wales.

Between Christmas Eve and New Year's Day the helpline supported 89 young people. About one third of these were young people dealing with mental health issues, self-harm and suicide.

The first day back in January was also a very busy day for the MEIC Team. They were approached by ITV Wales to comment on their experiences with young people contacting them about suicide and mental health issues following a report published by the Prince's Trust.

The film crew came into the office to interview Project Manager Sian Pitman and took some footage of the helpline in action. Watch the interview here.
