Public consultation: the way forward in East Cardiff

  • PDF

A public consultation is taking place on the proposed way forward for 21st Century high school provision in the East of Cardiff. The consultation will run to 19 March 2012.

What is the proposal?

The proposal is to close Llanrumney and Rumney High Schools from August 2014 and establish a replacement new 8 forms of entry 11-16 high school on the Rumney High School site.

The new school would open in September 2014, initially in the existing Rumney High School premises while a phased new build school is constructed.

The proposed 8 forms of entry school would have an admission number of 240 at Year 7.

How will the consultation work?

The consultation will follow the form of public meetings and drop-in sessions where Council officers will be on hand to explain the proposals in more detail and answer any questions.
