Journeys - Free Counselling Programme

  • PDF

Journeys have a free counselling programme available, offering  a variety of types of therapy such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy,  Person Centred Therapy,  Systemic and many more.

The service is being offered at our office on 38 Albany Road in Roath, Cardiff, CF24 3RQ.  They are keen to publicise this as widely as possible as the extensive NHS waiting list shows a clear and present need for a counselling service.

Not only is the waiting list mere weeks, as opposed to months long, there are no limitations on the number of sessions available. You can have as few or as many as you want.

It's completely free.  However, as a charity, Journeys' are asking for any weekly donation people can afford.  This will enable them to cover some of the costs associated with the programme and allow promotion of the service to a wider audience.  As membership to Journeys is £10 for an unwaged individual and £16 for a waged individual, they would be delighted if the initial donation could be match that amount, so that they could make all counselling clients members as well.  Any further donations would be at the client's discretion.

At the moment the service is only available in Cardiff and Caerphilly.  Journeys is actively liaising with colleges and universities to locate student counsellors willing to do their placement further afield.  Journey's have high hopes that they will be successful in this endeavour and offer an active, Wales-wide therapy programme.
