Cardiff Inter Faith Network
Cardiff Inter Faith Network is a community partnership of faith-based organisations (FBOs), working together to assist local community development and delivery of individual and community support services.
About The Cardiff Inter Faith Network (CIFN)
C3SC - Cardiff Third Sector Council is co-ordinating the development of this Network as an inclusive faith community network.
The Network meets regularly with the aim of bringing together representatives of Card
iff’s numerous and diverse faith communities. The work of the CIFN is to promote and assist the wide range of services provided to citizens in the Cardiff community from within local faith-based organisations (FBOs) - to improve local understanding of the common aims and objectives of all faith groups and to encourage greater collaboration within and between faith communities.
A working group was established in Autumn 2011 to steer the Network until ‘Terms of Reference’ are developed and officers elected.
What the CIFN aims to achieve
1. To develop an extensive and inclusive network of faith groups in Cardiff.
2. To promote greater understanding amongst faith groups and in the wider community in the City.
3. To provide representation of faith communities to statutory and other agencies
and to campaign on issues of importance for those communities.
4. To empower and support individual faith groups and smaller networks of faith groups
to engage in community initiatives.
5. To play an important role in encouraging community development and cohesion.
6. To celebrate diversity and commonality.
7. To open new possibilities for partnership.
