Communities First

Communities First is a Welsh Government programme that provides local people with opportunities to play an active role in shaping the future of their community.

Since 2007, we have been delivering Communities First in Grangetown, Rumney and Plasnewydd through a team of development workers. Working with communities in each of the areas, the team delivered activities and events to improve the living conditions and prospects of people in some of the most disadvantaged communities across Wales.

C3SC continues to deliver Communities First in these areas through our team of six Third Sector Officers. Each area has the area Third Sector Officer as the main local contact but all of the Officers work with local communities to deliver a range of activities. Communities First, in the middle of some exciting changes and from 2013, will be refocusing its work as an anti-poverty programme aiming to improve Learning, Health and Prosperity. To find out more about these changes, visit the Communities First - the Future page.
